The transition from summer to fall can be tough on our bodies and our brains. Cooler weather makes outdoor activities less enjoyable, shorter days can make us feel more tired, and holidays like Halloween and Thanksgiving can impact our eating habits. That’s where we come in!

To help you make the most of this season and #fallintowellness, here are eight simple tips for staying healthy this season!

  1. Stay Hydrated: As the weather cools down, it’s easy to forget about drinking water. Don’t forget to stay hydrated and if it’s feeling too cool for water, herbal teas or warm lemon water are great alternatives.
  2.  Enjoy Seasonal Produce: Fall offers an abundance of delicious and nutritious fruits and vegetables like apples, pumpkins, sweet potatoes, and squash. Incorporate these seasonal gems into your meals to boost your intake of vitamins and antioxidants.
  3. Maintain Physical Activity: If the shorter days and cooler temperatures are getting to you, switch up your routine and focus on indoor workouts. Check out a heated yoga class or an at-home workout that lets you stay nice and warm!
  4. Make The Most Of Your Sleep: Lower temperatures often make us want to stay under the covers longer. The good news is studies show that slightly cooler temperatures can help us sleep better! Embrace the opportunity for more restful sleep by maintaining a consistent sleep schedule and creating a cozy bedtime routine.
  5. Protect Your Immune System: With flu season around the corner and COVID-19 on the rise again, boost your immune system by staying up to date with your vaccines, eating foods rich in vitamin C, and practicing good hand hygiene.
  6. Mindful Eating: Fall often brings tempting treats like Halloween candies, pies, casseroles and more. Indulge occasionally but practice portion control and balance your diet with vegetables and other nutritious foods.
  7. Reduce Stress: Reducing stress is a constant battle these days, especially during the holiday season. Combat stress with relaxation techniques like meditation, deep breathing, or spending quality time with loved ones. Listen to your body and prioritize self-care to maintain mental health. And don’t be afraid to try these techniques out at work! Some coworkers may even want to join you!
  8. Plan Fun Fall Activities: Take advantage of fall’s unique activities like apple picking, hiking through colorful forests, or enjoying a bonfire with friends. Engaging in outdoor and social activities will uplift your spirits and keep you active.
