We’ve all heard the assertion that the average American gains 5 pounds during the holiday season. Thankfully, this is a weight gain myth, according to the Calorie Control Council.
We gain on average 1 to 3 pounds during the holiday season. But the problem is most of us will not lose the extra weight we gain, so it compounds year after year.
We’re always striving to practice what we preach here at Marathon Health so this year we’ve kicked off a new campaign called “Maintain, Don’t Gain.”
Between now and January 6, we’ve instituted a set of weekly tasks through our online portal to help the members of Marathon Health nation maintain their weight during the holiday season.
Users can log in and track their weight to complete the tasks, and a winning team will be crowned at the end of the challenge.
The “Maintain, Don’t Gain” program is available to all of our clients. We encourage everyone to give it a try now that the holiday season is here.
By the way, if you’re looking for healthy Thanksgiving recipes, we have several on our online portal. There are also hundreds of other healthy resources on the internet, such as this list from the Mayo Clinic.
Please join us in mainting and not gaining over the next six weeks. You’ll be glad you did.
Happy Thanksgiving!
